A specialist primary provision in Bournemouth is seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teacher to join its team from September. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, helping them re‑engage with learning and develop the skills they need to thrive.
The successful candidate will deliver a flexible, nurturing curriculum tailored to individual needs, working closely with a skilled multidisciplinary team. You will play a key role in creating a safe, structured and supportive environment where students can make meaningful academic and personal progress.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging lessons adapted for SEMH learners across KS1 and KS2
Build strong, trusting relationships that support emotional regulation and positive behaviour
Contribute to personalised learning plans and targeted interventions
Work collaboratively with support staff, pastoral teams and external agencies
Promote resilience, independence and positive life outcomes for students
Candidate Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience working with SEMH, alternative provision, or vulnerable learners (highly desirable)
Strong behaviour management and a restorative, relationship‑focused approach
Patience, adaptability and a commitment to inclusive education
This role offers the chance to make a significant impact within a supportive, specialist setting that prioritises wellbeing, personal growth and tailored learning pathways.
Although experience in an SEMH setting is desirable, the school are encouraging those with experience working in a mainstream setting to apply, providing you have a genuine interest in SEND and making a difference.
We look forward to hearing from you.
